Scoring

Scoring

Each match is worth one point, with matches ending in a draw worth ½ point to each side. The team with the most points at the end of the weekend wins the Legends Cup. If the matches end in a draw, the team with the lowest golf scores wins.

POINTS

The three rounds of the matches consist of 10 total matches, each match during the first two rounds (Skins & Alternate Shot) are worth one point. During the final round of best ball, first place will receive three points, second will get two points, third place will receive one point, and last place will receive zero points. There are no extra holes in Legends Cup matches. Should the two sides be tied after 18 holes, each side earns a halve (1/2 point). This includes holes ending on a push if the two teams are tied!

WINNING THE CUP

To win the Legends Cup outright, a team must have collected the most points out of the four teams.  A team can receive a maximum of two points during round one, two points during round two, and three points in the final round. The maximum amount of points is 7 total points if all matches are won.

CONCESSION

Unlike stroke play, players don't have to complete each hole in match play. If a player concedes a stroke – almost always a putt – to his opponent, the opponent picks up his ball, takes the score he would have made on the next stroke and moves on to the next hole.  Usually called a "gimme" putt.
